Customer Case Studies

The following customer stories represent a collection of externally published research and narratives authored in direct partnership with customers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). My role focused on distilling complex B2B SaaS and manufacturing challenges into clear, actionable success stories that highlight strategic communication and leadership outcomes. Each piece explores the unique problem-solution set required to drive measurable business impact and inspires confidence through verified, real-world transformation.

B2B SaaS & Manufacturing Case Studies

The customer stories shared below represent a collection of externally published successes I researched and authored in partnership with customers and SMEs. My process focuses on bridging the gap between technical innovation and business value, ensuring every story is anchored in real-world outcomes. These case studies illuminate the complex challenges facing B2B SaaS and manufacturing leaders today and the strategic solutions that drive their growth.

Ice Industries
Louisiana Fish Fry

Mingo Smart Factory

Ice Industries needed more reliable production data across five manufacturing locations. Manual reporting contributed to inaccurate production and inventory figures and made it difficult for leadership to understand performance remotely.

Mingo Smart Factory

After outgrowing two previous production monitoring systems, Louisiana Fish Fry needed greater flexibility, better visibility into downtime, and data employees could use to improve performance on the factory floor.

My first customer case study for Mingo Smart Factory began with a 60-minute interview with CEO Bryan Sapot. I distilled that conversation into a customer-focused narrative showing how better production visibility changed the way Ice Industries managed its operations.

The strongest proof point became the centerpiece: before Mingo, one plant could require $60,000–$100,000 in inventory write-offs to reconcile its books; after implementation, its physical inventory was accurate down to the part and pound of steel, resulting in a $0 write-off. I also identified interview moments that could stand alone as video clips, extending the story into social content.

I transformed a roughly 50-minute interview into a focused customer story organized around the themes that best demonstrated Mingo's business value: real-time visibility, contextualized downtime data, employee engagement, and better capital decisions. Louisiana Fish Fry had previously used both Vorne and Worximity before implementing Mingo; within its first nine months, the company achieved a 12% improvement in OEE.

The story used specific examples—including how granular data uncovered unnecessary short stops by a well-intentioned operator—to make an abstract manufacturing analytics product tangible and relatable. I also repurposed interview footage into shorter video clips for social media.

Extraordinary Customer Success Stories

Mingo Smart Factory

Mingo had valuable customer wins distributed across Confluence, Sales and Customer Success conversations, but many were too focused or concise to justify individual long-form case studies.

This started as a blog post, and eventually became a compliment to the published individual case studies. I worked with Sales and Customer Success to collect smaller customer wins and turn them into a single resource demonstrating the breadth of ways manufacturers were finding value with Mingo Smart Factory.

Rather than forcing each example into a traditional case-study format, I organized related stories around recurring customer outcomes such as real-time visibility and downtime improvement. The result gave prospects multiple concrete examples of Mingo in action while allowing Marketing to capture useful customer proof that might otherwise remain inside internal conversations. The page also created a reusable source of examples for sales conversations, educational content, and future marketing campaigns.

Lincoln Manufacturing

Mingo Smart Factory

Lincoln Manufacturing relied on pen-and-paper production reporting that made accessing historical information cumbersome, limited visibility into OEE, and introduced inefficiencies into production and inventory management.

I distilled a roughly 50-minute customer interview into a case study designed not only to document Lincoln Manufacturing's results, but to show other manufacturers how they could achieve similar success. The story connected Mingo's real-time production data to specific operational outcomes: replacing manual reporting, establishing meaningful OEE benchmarks, improving preventive maintenance, and making production information immediately accessible to leadership.

Lincoln estimated that reducing paperwork and improving machine efficiency had produced more than $100,000 in savings. By structuring the story around both results and the steps that produced them, the case study functioned as customer proof and practical product education for prospective buyers.

Contest & Broadcast Sponsorship Case Studies

The case studies below highlight award-winning contests and broadcast sponsorships I developed and executed in partnership with advertisers, sales teams, and station departments. My approach focused on moving beyond traditional media exposure to create integrated campaigns built around audience engagement, lead generation, and measurable business outcomes. These externally published examples demonstrate how creative concepts, cross-channel execution, and thoughtful campaign measurement transformed sponsorship opportunities into lasting advertiser value.

The Great Pave Off

13WHAM ABC / Second Street Lab

A local paving company wanted to identify homeowners actively considering a new driveway. The opportunity was to create an engagement campaign that generated awareness while identifying qualified prospects for the advertiser.

I conceived and executed The Great Pave Off, a photo contest that invited homeowners to submit their damaged driveways for a chance to win paving vouchers. Lead-generation questions turned contest participation into actionable sales opportunities: the campaign generated 66 requests for free estimates, 148 advertiser email opt-ins, 550 registrations, and 2,000+ votes.

The advertiser ultimately attributed $250,000 in booked business to the contest and supporting television campaign and renewed the sponsorship for the following year. The campaign won Campaign of the Year in the 2016 Second Street Awards. I later worked with Second Street's team to document the strategy and results as a published case study.

Nissan Kick Off Challenge

13WHAM ABC / Second Street Lab

Individual Nissan dealerships had advertised with the station, but regional group buys were uncommon. We needed a campaign substantial enough to demonstrate value to the regional buyer while giving individual dealerships visibility and generating measurable sales leads.

I created and executed a season-long football sweepstakes connecting five local Nissan dealerships with FOX Rochester's Sunday football programming. Instead of measuring success through exposure alone, registration included questions about purchase intent and test-drive interest.

The campaign identified 30 people requesting test drives and 50+ consumers interested in purchasing or leasing a Nissan within the next three months, while adding 680+ contacts to Nissan's email database and 1,100+ to the station database. The promotion generated $25,000 in digital revenue as part of a $75,000 Q4 package. Second Street later featured the campaign as a case study demonstrating how promotions can connect sponsorship, first-party data, and lead generation.

Food Truck Face Off

13WHAM ABC / Second Street Lab

Foodlink wanted a creative way to build awareness and drive ticket sales for its Festival of Food fundraiser. The campaign needed to engage the community well before the event while building an audience Foodlink could continue marketing to.

I created and executed Food Truck Face Off, a two-stage nomination and voting campaign built around Rochester's enthusiasm for local food trucks. Beyond generating awareness, registration forms captured email opt-ins and identified people who wanted reminders to purchase Festival of Food tickets.

The campaign produced 2,600+ votes from 1,700+ participants, generated 570+ email opt-ins for Foodlink, and identified 570+ people who requested ticket reminders. A post-vote email with a direct ticket link also drove event sales. The campaign was named the 2017 Second Street Award winner for Best Ballot, and Second Street published the strategy as a case study for other media organizations.

My favorite memory from this campaign is the live food truck rodeo hosted in the station parking lot featuring as many of the participating food trucks as were available to attend.
